Faust's Dilemma

12 COMMAND

INCOMING TRANSMISSION

DECODED

START TRANSMISSION

Angel,

The construction of the virus strain has been completed. The death rate is expected to be 99.98 %. The design of the infection interface will require the Nexus DNA sequence in question. It will take approximately 20 +/– 5 days to complete the final virus version as soon as the sequence has been obtained.

The disease cannot be limited to replicants. Due to the diversity of Nexus DNA, individual human beings will be infected as well. According to our calculations, the probability of infections within certain specific ethnic groups is 31.69 %; the probability of infections within the total population of an average Off-World colony through virus mutation is 5.87 %. The probabilities will vary slightly between different colonies due to local variations in solar radiation, etc.

There can be only one giver of life,

Faust

START TRANSMISSION

Faust,

Our agent will be promoted and will get access to the Devil Child DNA sequence as soon as the competition has been eliminated. It is our belief this will happen any day now. Await further instructions.

As for the human infection risk, only those who dwell among Devil Children will suffer. Believers will be spared.

There can be only one giver of life,

Angel

Pages in white continue the story. Pages in yellow are yet to be written. Note that the unwritten options are just suggestions for how the story might continue - you can add something completely different if you like.

Each page in the story ends in a five letter code. If you want to return to this page in the future, make a note of the page code and you will then be able to change your URL to take you straight back to that page.
