Such a rich and exciting movie as Blade Runner is obviously great
inspiration for fans to come up with related fiction and images.
Some fans have written stories based in the BR world. These are
usually very entertaining reading! Others have come up with new
images related to the movie. And others are inspired to delve into
the significant questions raised by Blade Runner.
Although many of these will be published on people's own websites,
BRmovie.com will always welcome your contributions, whether published
elsewhere or not.
Note: All stories are on printer-friendly web-pages. Please let
me know if you have any difficulties if you choose to print.
And don't forget - if you like something, it only takes a few moments
to send an e-mail to the person who created it to let them know
their work is being enjoyed. (Or via me if their e-mail address
is not listed.)
Note that Analysis contributions are now all in their own Analysis
section.
This is an interesting take by David
Edler on what was really going on in the background in BR and
picks up the tale two years after Deckard and Rachael leave. Warning:
Adult slash (m/m sex).
The sequel to Shades of Gray by Brian
Kay. I suggest you read the first story before Experience the
convoluted life of Eddie Gray as he struggles with life, his partner
and the authorities, none of which will leave him alone. Don't forget
to send Brian your comments on this intriguing story to encourage
him to write more!
The first part of a new story by Patrick
Sheehy, which finds us in L.A. where some dirty business is
being taken care of.
This summer czf had an interesting experience which she relates
to us here. After reading it, one might indeed ponder what is real
and where the edge of reality actually lies. Sometimes, we stray
across the boundary into that other world that exists quietly just
to the side of us.
Taffey's Bar Music
Very atmospheric music, but all that talking gets in the way. No
more! POD has carefully extracted an mp3 of the music at Taffey's
Snake Pit Bar. Great stuff! Enjoy at your leisure. Right
click to download 7.4 Mb mp3 file.
Somewhere
Another fan created movie edit, this one done by Asim Aziz Fazal.
The music this time is an atmospheric version of "Somewhere
Over the Rainbow" (sung by Tori Amos). This is an 11.3 Mb .wmv
file - Right
click to download - Asim has done edits of some other films
which might interest you - check out his
site.
Melody at Rain
The Blade Runner music has inspired many others since the film
was released (see the FAQ for lots of BR inspired music). In fact
BR is the most sampled film music ever. Here is a small piece that
samples "Blade Runner Blues" contributed by Ahmed Mahi
Durgun. Right click
to download 428 Kb .rm file of "Melody at Rain."
Welcome to 2019
If Vangelis hadn't provided such superb music for Blade Runner,
then I think we might have been inclined to turn to Pink Floyd for
the soundtrack. To see why, download this excellent composition
of Blade Runner movie clips edited together by Patrick Meaney to
the Pink Floyd track "Welcome to the Machine". This is
a 10.8 Mb .wmv file - Right
click to download.
DVD Covers
A wonderful alternative for your DVD cover. POD has created two
vectored pdf compilations which produce beautiful high quality printed
images. These files are just over 4 megs in size. You will need
Adobe Acrobat to read and print the file - if you don't already
have that, you can get the free reader from Adobe's
site. Upgraded July 2002 and now available in both Region
1 and Region
2 covers (right click to download).
A wonderful story by Chie-Hoon Lee about a girl who becomes a woman
and discovers ... herself.
A fascinating story by Man
Machine. What happens when replicants start answering to a different
master? The corporation isn't happy is what. Here is a story that
starts off in space and ends ...
A great story by Brian Kay.
Experience the convoluted life of Eddie Gray as he struggles with
life, his partner and the authorities, none of which will leave
him alone. Don't forget to send Brian your comments on this intriguing
story.
A story by "the log", that was first posted in sections
to the alt.fan.blade-runner
newsgroup. Read about a few days in the life of Blade Runner Sam
Phillips that he probably wishes never happened!
The first major contribution is this excellent novella by Patrick
Sheehy, which was first posted in sections to the alt.fan.blade-runner
newsgroup. We have been promised more of this story in due time.
This is one of those cases where some encouragement might be all
the inspiration that is required to continue the story - I'm certainly
keen to read more.
